My New Year Eve's Eve's Stroll

It's the day before New Years Eve (thus making it New Year Eve's Eve). My week had consisted of long car rides, unsuspecting "good-byes", doctor appointments, unhealthy eating, college applications, a frustrating basketball tournament, & sleepless nights where all these things mixed together in the perfect insomnia smoothie. With this blog's due date looming over my head, I layered on my thick, baggy clothes and drove off to my childhood playground- Lowman Park. Upon my arrival, I immediately turned on my camera and fumbled out of my boxy car so I could take this picture.
I became overwhelmed in the sunlit scene before me. With each step I took, I became more lost in the dazzling colors of the park. The water, which had been lifeless grey, had transformed to an abnormal blue. The houses and sky were tinted orange and pink. Everything was glowing with golden radiance.
I know the assignment was to take time out of our busy lives to have deep thoughts about where we are in life but I did just the opposite on my walk. I had spent my whole week thinking and over-analyzing my life. Thinking had consumed my days and nights. I needed to be free from my mind. This walk was my escape.

I walked, took pictures, and the only thoughts that passed through my mind was my awe of all the natural beauty around me.
